Michigan Football: 5 Realistic predictions for Joe Milton in 2020
Looking ahead to the 2020 Michigan football season, here are five predictions for starting quarterback Joe Milton.
I don’t know about anyone else, but the fact that the Michigan football season is just a few weeks away is pretty exciting.
Of course, there is a still a long ways to go and with COVID-19 cases rising all over the country, nothing is a guarantee in terms of actually playing games. However, it seems at some point soon we will have Big Ten football and will get to see the Wolverines at last.
The first game is set for Oct. 24 at Minnesota and presumably, that’s when Michigan football fans will get their first glimpse of Joe Milton as the starting quarterback.
Obviously, all the positive reports about Milton and the fact that he beat out Dylan McCaffrey for the job have fans really excited about what he can do and the hype train is hitting high gear.
So I wanted to try and take a realistic approach to what Milton can do this season. There is a reason for optimism with Milton but as with all first-time starters at quarterback, there are ups and downs.
How he manages those will likely determine how his season goes and in the big picture, how things go for Michigan football in general.
While many fans believe five-star recruit J.J. McCarthy is the savior of the program, others believe Milton can be that too.
Will he be that this season? It’s hard to say, but here’s a shot at five realistic predictions for Milton in 2020.
