Michigan football will be landing another commitment in the 2022 class Tuesday from three-star tight end Marlin Klein.

The recruitment of three-star tight end Marlin Klein has moved quickly and now it appears a decision will come down Tuesday for the Michigan football target in the class of 2022.

Klein, who is a 6-foot-6 tight end out of Georgia, recently took a self-guided visit to Ann Arbor and has really caught the attention of tight ends coach Sherrone Moore.

Klein is originally from Germany but moved to the United States. He plays his high school football in Georgia. But after his visit, he appears ready to make a decision and posted on his Instagram page Monday that he would be deciding today at 10:30 a.m.

On Monday, the Wolverines started trending with expert picks for Klein. U-M already had a pair of crystal balls projections from 247 sports and picked up another from Sam Webb last night.

EJ Holland, the lead Michigan recruiting reporter over at Rivals, placed a Futurecast for Klein to Michigan, which made it four Rivals experts making the same pick.

The tight end is ranked No. 371 in the 2022 class according to the 247 composite and he’s also listed as the No. 18 tight end. But just from watching his highlights, you can see the potential.

It might take some time to develop him into a solid blocker, but his receiving skills are legit and the coaching staff is getting a steal here. We will have more today once the decision is official.

Details on 2022 DT

While Michigan football has been trending in the right direction with a number of other 2022 targets such as Tyler Morris, Kaleb Brown, Joshua Burnham and some others, the Wolverines have also been making their presence felt with defensive tackle Deone Walker out of Detroit Cass Tech.

Walker is 6-foot-6 and 304 pounds. He’s the kind of big defensive tackle Michigan football fans love and his game is on the rise. He also said this to Brice Marich of the Michigan Insider ($) about his offer from U-M:

"“It feels great. I finally feel like I’m getting what I deserve. It felt the world to me. Because Michigan was my childhood dream school.”"

Walker also revealed that he’s been in consistent contact with defensive coordinator Don Brown and also head coach Jim Harbaugh. Walker may not be ranked according to the 247 composite rankings, but he’s a clear priority for the Wolverines.

Defensive tackle is a priority in 2022, with Alex VanSumeren already committed, but Michigan seems like the early favorite for Walker too, who should rise in the rankings at some point.
