Shooting Percentage: Austin Davis

Austin Davis led Michigan in shooting percentage a season ago among players who averaged ten or more minutes per game. I think he will do the same in 2020-21. He doesn’t take jumpers, and he uses his phenomenal post moves to get his buckets.

Juwan Howard brought back Davis for another season because the depth at center would have been weak without him. I think Davis’ minutes will be slightly down this year because I anticipate Michigan playing a bit more small ball.

Austin will be crucial to help develop Dickinson but he will still be needed to make an on court impact as the back up center once again.

Recap

Michigan basketball will be replacing a ton of talent and production from last year’s squad. It will be fun to see how the newcomers settle into their new roles. Luckily for Michigan, they still return some veteran leaders who will make sure Michigan doesn’t miss a beat as they transition into the new basketball season.

Expect Franz Wagner to cement himself as the primary scoring option on this team and lead the Wolverines in points in 2020-21. Add some solid point guard play from Mike Smith and good rebounding from Hunter Dickinson, and Michigan should be a threat in the Big Ten this season.
