The NCAA recently announced that the 2020-21 college basketball season will officially start on November 25th. In other words, Michigan basketball will be here before you know it.

With the college basketball season in sight, I wanted to take some time to predict who will be all the stat leaders for Michigan basketball come season’s end. Some of these predictions may seem obvious to you, but some may surprise as well.

Michigan loses plenty of production from last year’s squad. The Wolverines lose their leading scorer, assists, and minutes man in Xavier Simpson. And they lose their leading rebounder as well in big man Jon Teske.

While losing your starting center and point guard probably doesn’t seem ideal on paper, good teams lose players and have to rebuild every year. And I think Juwan Howard did a phenomenal job of rebuilding this roster with the 2020 recruiting class and in the transfer market as well. Let’s recap Michigan’s losses and additions from last year to this year.

Losses

Xavier Simpson (graduated)

Jon Teske (graduated)

David DeJulius (transfer)

Colin Castleton (transfer)

Cole Bajema (transfer)

Additions

Mike Smith (transfer)

Chaundee Brown (transfer)

Hunter Dickinson (2020 class)

Jace Howard (2020 class)

Terrance Williams (2020 class)

Zeb Jackson (2020 class)

Michigan basketball will add six new faces to the team this season who will all be looking to help fill the void left by last year’s losses.

Let’s look ahead to the 2020-21 season and predict all the stat leaders starting with points.
