Michigan Football: Predicting Wolverines’ 2021 depth chart
Secondary
Starters: Vincent Gray, DJ Turner, Andre Seldon (nickel), Daxton Hill, Brad Hawkins
Backups: Jalen Perry, Gemon Green, Sammy Faustin, Makari Paige, Darion Green-Warren
In the secondary, Michigan football will likely lose its top corner, Ambry Thomas to the NFL draft. Thomas would be a senior in the spring but was on the fence about returning.
Health concerns also caused Thomas to miss practice time and games last fall, so you could understand him not risking it and focusing on his NFL future.
Outside of Thomas, the Wolverines should be mostly intact in the secondary with Daxton Hill leading the way at the safety position. The former five-star recruit will team with Brad Hawkins to form one of the top safety duos in the country.
Vincent Gray is ready to be a No.1 corner and will get a chance to prove himself in the spring and the fall. DJ Turner has also been impressive and I’m really high on the ability of Andre Seldon.
Darion Green-Warren is another, that with a few more months of seasoning, could be ready to contribute. He’s going to be a dude and we might see some of that this spring.
