The layout for the 2020 Michigan football campaign is here and so are reactions to this truly one of a kind season.

The Big Ten will open the year on Sept. 3rd as planned, at least until something changes, as the league announced its new 2020 schedule Wednesday. Michigan football will play Sept.  5.

Now that the docket is official, all the schools are aware of what lies in front of them as they begin camp on-time as originally scheduled, which is Aug. 7. Teams have been able to hold some workouts but fall camp begins in earnest Friday.

The schedule is far from perfect, but it’s still highly encouraging news for any football fan who lives for this beloved sport.

Protocols will still be in place with the safety of these student athletes being the number one priority for everyone.

Multiple weekly tests, more facial guards, temperature checks and other standard procedures have to be followed for the process to last its full go. As for the fan involvement, that will most likely get discussed ad nauseum until the first kickoff.

One of the biggest differences in the previous schedule was the addition of Northwestern as well as the moving of the Ohio State game to Oct. 24. Michigan State also had its game flipped against Michigan from East Lansing to Ann Arbor.

Those are some of the highlights, but here’s a deeper look at what’s ahead for the Wolverines.
