As fall camp seemingly inches closer for Michigan football, here’s a look at three guys who could emerge as surprise starters in 2020.

The clock is ticking on the dog days of summer and that means the beginning of another Michigan football season is rapidly approaching.

This year offers a different set of circumstances to overcome. The health and well-being of teenagers who are lucky enough to play America’s favorite sport for a living during a lethal pandemic.

This offseason has been like no other that has come before it. No spring practices, creative workout regimens for staying in shape, little to no in person recruiting visits, no vacation trips and so much more that has affected the sport.

Like it or dislike it, 2020 is going to change the game as we used to know it for a long period ahead.

In the meantime, practice is scheduled to reopen in about two weeks across the country. If things can somehow progress as normal, then there is a better chance for a season to resume for everyone.

That paves the way for camp battles at positions where new faces can emerge for Michigan football. Jim Harbaugh has some gaps in his arsenal that he’s got to fill just like anyone else.

On offense quarterback and the offensive line are the biggest worries because of inexperience. On defense, Don Brown’s core returns a lot of guys who have gotten their respective feet wet already.

So the three preceding names might just find themselves on the turf sooner rather than later depending upon how bad they truly want it as they push for starting roles in 2020.
