Talent and experience

In college football, experience is a beautiful thing. The players that have been in the program for 2-3 years can help mentor the young players and show them how to be successful at the college level. Every team needs the right blend of experience and youth.

Hutchinson, Paye, and Kemp give the Wolverines defense just that, experience. They are known producers for Michigan football.

Just last season, the trio combined for 27 TFL’s and 12 sacks and should improve upon those numbers this season.

Kemp was a captain in 2019. That shows that he has the respect of his teammates. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him be named a captain again this season. He is a fifth-year senior who has given his all to the program.

Paye, a senior, and Hutchinson, a junior, are the other leaders on the line. They can impart a lot of wisdom to the younger players from their game experience. Giving little tips and tricks to pass-rushing will ensure that they don’t see a drop off in play when they are not on the field.

Every position group has its leaders and Paye, Kemp, and Hutchinson lead a talented group on the defensive line.
