Michigan football is actively pushing to try and close things out with some key 2021 recruits, here’s how and who the Wolverines are pushing for.
There is no question that Michigan football has adapted as well as any program to the extended dead period in recruiting, as well as all of the remote interactions.
While other programs have been doing well too, the Wolverines seem to be doing an even better job than normal on the recruiting trail and you have to give Jim Harbaugh and company a ton of credit for that.
At the same time though, there is nothing quite like taking that on-campus visit. Obviously, taking an official visit isn’t possible right now, but the Wolverines have found a nice work around by having targets visit campus on their own, without the coaching staff.

Tristan Bounds did it before he committed and recently, four-star defensive tackle target George Rooks also paid a visit to the campus, which is another really positive sign for Michigan football. The news is according to the Michigan Insider ($), which also reported the Wolverines are trying to get offensive guard Drew Kendall to do the same thing ($).
Kendall, who has been projected to Michigan football by 247 sports and Rivals for a couple of months now, has been to Ann Arbor before, yet the staff is encouraging him to visit again.
With both Rooks and Kendall, this appears to be part of a push to get them to make a decision. Kendall has said he wants to decide by the end of July, but according to EJ Holland, there is more doubt around the program as to whether Kendall will actually be a Wolverine. Here’s what Holland wrote Monday ($):
"“From talking to a program source, it’s more of an ‘I’ll believe it when I see it situation,’ meaning that Kendall has had so many opportunities to pull the trigger and be part of the class but has continued to delay.”"
At this point, Kendall, who is a high-ranking four star is still a priority for Michigan, however, if he doesn’t decide soon the Wolverines may need to move on, especially if Rocco Spindler makes a decision in August.
It’s been thought that Rooks could announce his decision at anytime and you sort of get the same feeling from Kendall, yet it’s been that way since May now and you have to wonder why hasn’t he decided one way or another?
On another key note for 2021, four-star wide receiver, Xavier Worthy, who is set to decide this week, got another crystal ball for Michigan football from Greg Biggins ($), who is well-known west-coast recruiting expert for 247 sports. Biggins said Alabama was right in the mix, but he felt good about Michigan right now.
And last but not least, Holland also reported ($) Monday that Michigan is making an added push with Donovan Edwards. The only difference is that U-M is contacting him more and it seems like the Wolverines are trying to get him to commit while they have the momentum.
