Michigan football received another crystal ball pick for four-star wideout Christian Dixon but also some doubt about another top target.

It’s been pretty clear that Michigan football has been the leader for four-star wide receiver Christian Dixon and it appears more and more likely that he will end up committing.

Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports ($) is the latest recruiting expert to project Dixon to the Wolverines. He placed his crystal ball pick Wednesday and lodged it with a confidence level of nine out of 10. He also states that Michigan is the clear team to beat, which is something documented here.

Dixon is a 6-foot-2 wide receiver who is ranked 210th overall in the 2021 recruiting class. Michigan football does have a commitment from three-star receiver Markus Allen, but Dixon would be the highest ranked player at the position.

In some predictions the other day, I did project Dixon to be among the next four players to commit to the Wolverines 2021 class and it seems like that becomes more likely by the day. His mom even gave Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider ($) a ringing endorsement of Michigan and the staff, especially Josh Gattis.

In the same post, Wiltfong expressed confidence that Dixon would commit soon, he also expressed some doubt about four-star offensive guard Drew Kendall ending up with the Wolverines, writing the following ($):

"“I’m glad I never put in a pick for Drew Kendall to Michigan. Maybe he’ll end up in Ann Arbor still but I think he’ll end up somewhere else whether that’s Boston College, Stanford or Penn State or somewhere else.”"

That was the most interesting part of the piece. I took a look at the offensive line numbers and how many guys Michigan football could take up front in the 2021 class, but if anyone besides Rocco Spindler commits before Kendall, it could be a tight fit.

Although, as I wrote earlier, the two most likely candidates to do so are Thomas Cole and Spindler and they aren’t slated to commit until this fall. At least Cole probably wouldn’t commit to Michigan without taking a visit and he can’t do that until down the road.

All seven of the crystal ball picks on 247 sports for Kendall have him going to Michigan. His Rivals profile also projects him 100 percent to Michigan. Between the two sites, there are 16 projections of him to the Wolverines and not a single one has him going anywhere else. The confidence rating on the picks too is at a seven for 247 on a scale of 10, which is pretty solid.

These things can change obviously and the longer Kendall puts off committing the more questions will arise, but if he does end up elsewhere, it’d be somewhat shocking, particularly with all the predictions in Michigan’s favor.
