A lot has changed over the past few months for Michigan basketball and with that in mind, here’s an updated projection of the Wolverines starting lineup.

To say there have been a lot of changes to the Michigan basketball roster since the end of the season in March would be an understatement.

Not only did the Wolverines lose three players via the transfer portal, Michigan basketball gained three using the same method of transfer. The Wolverines also struck out on two five-star recruits in Josh Christopher and Isaiah Todd, but still landed one of the best classes in the Big Ten.

The 2020 class is led by four-star big man Hunter Dickinson. Zeb Jackson and Terrance Williams, two other four-star prospects who rank in the top 100 are also solid pieces along with Jace Howard, who ranked as a three star.

While Michigan has experienced a turbulent offseason, it’s not over yet. The eligibility of Chaundee Brown and Nojel Eastern still needs to be determined for next season and Isaiah Livers will need to make up his mind about the NBA draft or returning for his senior year.

These unknowns can make it difficult to predict the starting lineup, but since this is a projection, why not project the pieces Juwan Howard and U-M will be working with this fall?

So before breaking down what I think next season’s starting lineup will look like, here’s what I think will happen over the next few months: Isaiah Livers will return, Brown will get eligible and Eastern will have to sit a year.

That means Michigan will have Brown and Livers next season, but not Eastern. At least, that’s the premise I’m taking for this starting lineup prediction. Here we go, starting with point guard.
