Michigan football went 9-4 in the 2019 season and here’s why the Wolverines will improve next season, at least on the win total.

While nothing is guaranteed in terms of Michigan football having a 2020 season, it seems like there is a strong chance the Wolverines will get to play this season, at least in the Big Ten conference.

Whether or not Michigan football makes the trip to Seattle still seems up in the air, but it seems more likely than not that the Wolverines will play their original 12-game schedule.

Of course, that might be a touch optimistic and we really won’t know until all the conferences and the NCAA hammer everything out for the upcoming season. Plus, the circumstances could always change.

But Michigan football players will be able to report to campus for voluntary workouts within a couple of weeks according to reports from multiple outlets citing players and their parents. The Wolverine cited Braiden McGregor’s dad, who said players would return June 15, with mandatory workouts beginning July 1.

"“They’re planning on starting things up on June 15, and it’ll be optional up until July 1. The majority of the players are trying to get back on June 15, or at least the early enrollees.”"

That’s good news all around for Michigan fans and fans of college football from across the country. The Wolverines were ranked 15th in Athlon’s preseason ranking released a few days ago and in my predictions, I had Michigan winning 10 regular-season games. Here are three reasons explaining why that will happen and why Athlon and other polls are sleeping on U-M a bit.
