Michigan football cracked the top list of three 2021 targets recently, while there are good vibes with a four-star wide receiver.

As get farther and farther into the 2021 recruiting cylce, the board for Michigan football becomes more defined by the day and a few guys on that board released their updated top lists recently.

One of those guys is defensive end Kechaun Bennett, who has been trending with Michigan crystal ball picks. He released a top six Tuesday, which included the Wolverines, as well as Syracuse, Ole Miss, Cal, Notre Dame, and Miami.

Bennett is listed as a four-star in the 247 sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end is ranked 21st at his position and definitely has the look of a contributor down the road.

Ryan Barnes, a coveted three-star defensive back, who seems to be leaning to Notre Dame, released his top 15 and Michigan football made it, but the chances don’t appear great right now, although there is still time to change things.

Another defensive back, three-star Daymon David also released his top six which included Michigan along with Boston College, Miami, Louisville, Indiana and Oklahoma. Here’s what he told 247 sports about his interest in the Wolverines:

“(Assistant) coach (Bob) Shoop actually coached a few people that I know. They say he’s a really good coach, really helps develop people. He’s a good play caller.”

With Barnes most likely headed to Notre Dame, David could become a take down the road, especially if the Wolverines can’t land four-star safety Donovan McMillon, who is probably the top target they have a shot with at safety right now.

Christian Dixon down to Michigan and Cal

Rivals’ recruiting reporter EJ Holland paid a visit to four-star wide receiver Christian Dixon, who has gotten a bunch of crystal ball picks from 247 sports.

And Holland, who has also put in a prediction of Dixon to Michigan, said that after being with Dixon, he still feels confident about his pick ($). Dixon would be a huge addition for the Wolverines as a guy who can get deep and go across the middle.

The Wolverines have clearly been after bigger wideouts this cycle and Dixon would be the perfect fit for what they need and want alongside Markus Allen, who is already committed.

While the Wolverines are the favorite for Dixon, Cal still appears to be in the mix. They have one of his five FutureCasts from Rivals, but Michigan football still have the other four. Stay tuned.
