Michigan Football: 2023 target David Vadala talks Wolverines and more
Q: Your dad, Pat, is a retired Police Officer. You’re 5-foot-10-inches and 215-pounds. Who wins in a grappling match between you to?
A: “Well, of course we’d never want to do that, but in my dads prime he was a solid 5’11” 195 and Me being a bit shorter but heavier and stronger, I’d say I have a bit of an advantage and I say it would be a great matchup, but I believe I would win.”
Q: Same question as the last but this time it’s a grappling match between you and your brother Vince, who’s an Army Medic. (Thank you for your service Vince!)
A: “IfI’m being honest, in my early days, I don’t think I’ve ever beaten Vince in any kind of wrestling, but in recent times we’ve had some good matches, with his army training, and my football and weight training, I’d say it would be a great matchup, our builds are very similar but I’d say I’m strong and faster, I’d bet on myself but a very close match up.”
Q: This may be a cliché question, but where do you see yourself in six or seven years? Is your ultimate goal to get drafted by an NFL team, or is there another plan for David Vadala?
A: “Being drafted into the NFL would be a dream come true, but first comes college and my education, and other back up plans, I would go to college to get a business degree and see where that could take me. I’m also talented in another sport of powerlifting, I’m currently ranked number 1 in the country in my weight class and on pace to break the all-time world record total in my weight class. 6 to 7 years is a while away but having an idea of my future is something I see as very positive and something I’m looking forward to.”
