Michigan Football: Top 5 NFL Draft prospects for Wolverines in 2021
By Ryan Kraus
Nick Eubanks
The Wolverines got a big boost to the tight end room for next season when Nick Eubanks decided to come back for his 5th season. Sean Mckeon graduated and if Eubanks joined him, Michigan football would have been very young at the TE position.
Michigan has produced a lot of productive tight ends in Harbaugh’s tenure. Jake Butt, Zach Gentry, and Seon Mckeon have all made it to the NFL. Eubanks will have one more season to showcase his talents.
Eubanks will be the top dog among a group of tight end’s that includes Luke Schoonmaker and Erick All.
The fifth-year tight end has seen an increase in production every year. His catches increased from two as a sophomore to 21 as a senior and as long as he stays healthy, there is no reason why he shouldnt catch 30 balls in 2020.
Nick’s 6-foot-5 frame is ideal for the position. He will have a size advantage on the linebackers and safeties that have the task of covering him.
He will continue to show that he’s a mismatch down the seam and across the middle of the field. Electing to come back for his 5th year will pay dividends. Nick has a role in the offense and that will be spotlighted.
As the NFL becomes more and more of an aerial attack, Nick’s services will be coveted.
