As the second Michigan football player off the board in the NFL draft, Josh Uche joins former teammate Chase Winovich at his new home in New England.

There hasn’t been as much activity as there was early on in the 2019 NFL draft when two former Michigan football players were taken in the first round. Devin Bush and Rashan Gary were selected 10th and 12th overall, respectively.

Cesar Ruiz narrowly made it into the first round when he found out, at pick 24, that he was flying due south to become intimately aware of the wild festival known as Madi Gras. He won’t mind the change of scenery in New Orleans. He might miss the fall in the midwest, but the debauchery that is Bourbon Street will surely take his mind off of things.

There was a long pause after “King” Ruiz learned of his new climate. Many were beginning to think that no Wolverine would find themselves on the other end of a call with a general manager letting them know which hat to grab, at least not in the second round.

Finally, four picks away from the third, Josh Uche was selected and will become a New England Patriot in just a few months, or whenever football resumes.

Here are three reasons why the Patriots got a steal with Uche as the 60th overall pick for the 2020 NFL Draft.
