Michigan Football: 3 2020 NFL draft predictions for Wolverines
Peoples-Jones will go no later than 3rd round
One of the guys I am most interested in following this weekend is wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. The former No. 1 wide receiver recruit in the 2017 class didn’t really live up to the hype at Michigan, but he also showed he has talent.
While Peoples-Jones never reached 100 yards receiving in a game, he caught 103 passes in three seasons with the Wolverines and racked up 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns, all of which came in the last two years.
At 6-foot-2, 200-some pounds, Peoples-Jones is the big, physical receiver you want on the outside in the NFL. He can be effective going over the middle and also in the red zone.
It remains to be seen if Peoples-Jones can learn how to utilize that 4.4 speed and become a legitimate deep threat at the next level, however, his talent is so tantalizing that it’s hard to see him lasting past the third round of the draft.
The only thing stopping him from possibly creeping into the second round is the depth of this wideout class, but in most years, Peoples-Jones is the classic late 2nd, early-third round pick.
