Michigan Basketball: 5 things to expect in Juwan Howard’s 2nd season

Tireless Recruiting On The Highest Level
Juwan Howard is shooting for the stars literally. He’s proving that he can recruit with any other coach or program in the country. John Beilein’s system was to find a lot of diamond in the rough type of guys and coach them up.
Howard is going for the likes of players who really haven’t even considered the Wolverines since arguably the fab five era. That means that Michigan may turn into a one and done school eventually, but it also means it will be expected to contend with the nation’s best on the trail.
Hunter Dickinson will be relied upon to possibly start at center once he steps on campus. Terrance Williams and Zeb Jackson should also be counted on to fill roles off the bench instantly. The losses of Josh Christopher and Isaiah Todd will sting for a while, but Howard will undoubtedly dust himself off and go back out there to keep trying to bring in other five-star recruits.
Throw in the nation’s number six scorer in 2019 from Columbia (Mike Smith), and this has the makings of a tournament type of team that can make waves with its more than capable talents across the board. Until then, anything can happen and these last couple of weeks have proven that to us once again.
