Michigan football seems more and more likely to land four-star guard Drew Kendall and some recruiting experts are starting to lean in that direction.

Things have really picked up steam lately with Michigan football and four-star offensive lineman Drew Kendall.

Kendall is one of the top-rated targets Michigan football has a realistic chance of landing in 2021 and the sixth-ranked guard, as well as the 118th prospect overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings, seems more and more likely to choose Michigan.

Boston College has been the key competitor and actually was the leader for Kendall not long ago. In fact, at one time, the Eagles owned all of Kendall’s crystal ball predictions from 247 sports.

But in the last few weeks that has started to change rapidly. First, Michigan football picked up a couple of crystal ball projections, which gave them 40 percent compared to 60 percent for Boston College.

Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider ($) logged a pick for the Wolverines last week after what he described as near-constant contact between Kendall and the U-M staff.  Michigan also added a teammate of Kendall’s recently to its 2021 class a commitment in Casey Phinney and that could be another factor.

Whatever the reason, more recruiting experts are starting to move away from Boston College in this recruitment and in the last few days, Steve Wiltfong and some Boston College experts have gone to foggy predictions after having previously put in crystal balls for the Eagles.

Obviously, we have learned from basketball and other recruiting battles that experts usually act on whatever information they have, which means it can change, along with their predictions.

But most of the time, these guys are right and if I was a Boston College fan, I’d be worried about Kendall’s recruitment, especially now. I’m sure there was a concern before, but now that even Boston College experts are backing off their predictions, it’s a good sign for Michigan.

The Wolverines already have three offensive lineman committed in 2021 and the addition of Kendall, who is listed 78th overall according to 247 sports’ specific rankings would be another great feather in the cap of U-M and offensive line coach Ed Warriner.
