Michigan basketball fans have been waiting for five-star shooting guard Joshua Christopher to make an announcement and it hasn’t come. Here’s my best guess.

Like all Michigan basketball fans, I have been on pins and needles all day waiting to hear the announcement from Joshua Christopher about where he will play next season.

While there have been tons of rumors and conjecture, there hasn’t been much more than guesses from a clock on Christopher’s Instagram account as to when he would let everyone know if he was choosing Michigan, Arizona State, Missouri or somewhere else.

The best guess was that it could be a 3 PM PST. That time came and went and nothing from Christopher. Shortly after that, the account that released the video saying he would announce his commitment Monday, teased his commitment again Monday night.

So then the gears shifted to another time slot and this one probably would make sense which is 8:24 p.m. It’s well known that Christopher is a big Kobe Bryant fan. He has a picture of Bryant on his Twitter profile and he chose the four-year anniversary of his final game against the Jazz, a classic Bryant performance to announce his school.

Of course, that could all just be coincidence. Christopher never said he was going to commit at a certain time and with all the twists and turns in this recruitment, nothing should be a surprise at this point.

But, if I had to guess, he will commit sometime around 8:24 PM PST. That means for those on the East coast, it could be a long night. I find it hard to believe he would keep nearly the entire college basketball world on edge and then not announce anything.

If he wanted to do it in primetime, then shortly after 9 PM EST would have been a good guess. That time came and went. So unless Christopher is doing this at a totally random time, I’d keep my eyes open in a couple hours for the final call. But either way, you will get notified, meaning don’t scroll all night.

As you’d expect, Michigan basketball fans are worried. People with all sorts of “sources” are saying they have heard one thing or another.

The truth is at this point, the only source that can be trusted is Christopher. He has kept this entire thing close to the vest and I wouldn’t trust anything that wasn’t said by him.

So whether that announcement comes tonight or not, don’t worry about what all the sources have to say and wait for Christopher to speak for himself. Hopefully, it won’t be long now.
