Michigan basketball will find out Monday whether or not it’s going to land five-star Joshua Christopher. Also, some good vibes with Isaiah Todd.

Michigan basketball fans have been waiting for a long time to hear a decision from five-star shooting guard Joshua Christopher and it now appears that answer will come Monday.

Christopher hinted at April 13 as a decision date in a post on Twitter, but a video released Saturday, that featured Christopher appeared to confirm he will be choosing that day between what everyone assumes are the two finalists: Michigan and Arizona State.

Michigan basketball has appeared to be in the driver’s seat for Christopher, as the Wolverines hold 100 percent of his crystal ball predictions from 247 sports, but his brother plays for Arizona State and it’s hard to say exactly where things will end up.

It doesn’t seem like there are any clear signs that show the Sun Devils as the favorites instead of the Wolverines, but the bottom line is that until Christopher announces for the Maize and Blue, you don’t know what to believe.

It would be the perfect time for Michigan though. The Wolverines just got a commitment from graduate transfer Mike Smith of Columbia. He’s a dynamic scoring guard and If U-M gets a commitment from Christopher too, it will be adding two guys that create a lot of offense.

Christopher is a clear top-10 talent in the 2020 recruiting class and he’s listed as the No. 3 shooting guard. He’s the kind of ball-dominant guard that could allow Eli Brooks to start at point if Clark can’t win the job.

Either way, the addition of Christopher raises the ceiling of Michigan basketball immensely in the 2020-21 season and that ceiling gets even higher if Isaiah Todd comes to Ann Arbor. He’s already committed but there have been rumors he might play pro ball in Europe instead of college.

Well, his high school head coach talked to MLive and seemed to quash that. When asked by MLive if he thought Todd would become a Wolverine, Bryon Williams, Todd’s high school coach, replied, “Absolutely, he loves Juwan (Howard).”

The coach also told the reporter he would talk to him when Todd committed so he seems very confident that the five-star power forward will indeed sign with Michigan basketball.

If both Christopher and Todd join the Wolverines, and if Isaiah Livers happens to come back from the NBA draft, Michigan could have as much talent as team in college hoops.
