Michigan football was mentioned by a pair of 2021 targets as a top three or four team in their recruitment and in both instances, U-M is in solid shape.

We might be in the middle of a dead period for recruiting, but Michigan football is still making plenty of headlines.

The Wolverines have done a lot of their work in the spring and summer over the past few recruiting cycles, as most programs are doing now and the lack of having visits is putting a crimp on their style but it’s what everyone is up against.

However, that hasn’t stopped a flurry of activity on the recruiting front. Coaches can still contact players electronically and that might be as important as ever right now. And even though you’d think things would slow down, players are releasing their top lists, some top-5, others top-10 and some with just three or four.

Consequently, Michigan football has been named on quite a few of these lists over the past few days and two of the more recent recruits to do so are guys you could probably put in the lean category.

The first is three-star offensive line Caleb Tiernan a prospect from Detroit that is ranked 368th overall in the 2021 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings. He released his top four on Twitter and included Ohio State, Northwestern and Penn State, along with Michigan.

Yet, right now the Wolverines hold all of his crystal ball projections on 247 sports, which gives you an idea of where this is headed.

The other interesting tidbit to pass along comes from The Michigan Insider and it’s concerning the former Boston College commit TJ Guy. Guy is another three-star but he plays on the other side of the ball at defensive end. Don Brown has been a big factor here as he is with most Massachusetts prospects.

Guy is from Mansfield and is listed as the No. 703 prospect according to the 247 sports composite rankings as well as the No. 38 weakside defensive end. He told Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider ($) that he hears from Michigan regularly and that the Wolverines are among his top three, along with Syracuse and Pittsburgh.

Guy also has a crystal ball for Michigan, while his other two are for Boston College, where it appears he has decided not to go, so again, this looks like a good situation for the Wolverines.
