Howard has Michigan a top destination

When the Wolverines hired Howard to be the head coach, many expected him to do well on the recruiting trail. He was a former Michigan great, an NBA player and a long-time NBA assistant.

Howard also used to be a five-star recruit and was part of the Fab Five, so he can relate to kids and they know about his reputation, which still matters, at least somewhat.

What helped even more is how he showed his chops by coaching Michigan to an upset win over Gonzaga, as well as North Carolina, which was at least ranked really high at the time. Players saw that and took notice and Juwan looks fun to play for, plus, he knows how to develop guys for the NBA and that’s something five-star prospects want.

And that’s why Howard looks like he might be able to land two five-stars in 2020. Isaiah Todd is committed to the Wolverines and five-star Joshua Christopher is projected by many to follow.

If that comes to fruition, that will give Michigan Todd, Christopher, Hunter Dickinson, Zeb Jackson and Terrance Williams. Talk about a new-era fab five. It won’t be that, but if they all come, Michigan will be scary good.
