One thing that is also being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic is recruiting and here is a look at how one Michigan football target is handling it.

There is no doubt that Michigan football, as well as a number of other schools scheduled before it, were looking forward to hosting five-star running back TreVeyon Henderson.

But now, because of the pandemic and the mass cancellations of everything, which has also included recruiting for the Michigan football program and many others who have banned coaches from visiting recruits or allowing recruits to take visits on campus, everything is up in the air.

Obviously, that makes a ton of tense. If school isn’t going on in classrooms and if athletic events are halted, it wouldn’t make any sense at all for high school recruits to be traveling around. But that still doesn’t mean things have cleared up in terms of what will happen.

For Henderson, the No 17 player in the 247 sports composite rankings and the No. 2 back in the country, it led to visits being canceled with Ohio State, while visits with Oklahoma and Texas are still up in the air according to what Henderson told Brian Dohn of 247 sports.

"“I know Ohio State got canceled but I have not heard from the other schools yet about canceling my visits,” said Henderson, who is the No. 17 player in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. “If they do get canceled, it is what it is. I think it (alters things) a little. By not being able to take the visits I was looking forward to, and I was ready to schedule some more visits to different schools, it does kind of change things.”"

It certainly does change things. But it doesn’t sound like this will impact Henderson’s timeline. He indicated that he would be making a decision early in the summer, right around when he could visit Michigan football, which is scheduled right now the latter part of June.

"“I might be deciding earlier than in the summer,” Henderson said to 247 sports about his timeline. “I am planning on deciding earlier than late in the summer. I was looking forward to taking a couple visits that would help me (cut) my list down a little more but I am going to drop some top schools soon and go with what I have. I think it will surprise a lot of people when I drop my list.”"

Dohn is crystal balling Henderson to Clemson and since he is out of ACC country in Virginia, it’s hard to argue with the logic. But Jay Harbaugh and Josh Gattis are two of the Wolverines top recruiters and with this new offensive system, maybe they can convince Henderson to come to Ann Arbor. They at least seem to have a puncher’s chance.

Obviously, we will see how things go with recruiting and for the time being, coaches are going to have to do it all via technology. It’s going to be an interesting time.
