Michigan basketball hits the road tonight to take on Rutgers and here we go with three predictions for Wolverines and Scarlet Knights.

When Michigan basketball last met Rutgers, the two teams played at Madison Square Garden and the Wolverines won a game that seemed to change the course of their season.

It was the first game back for Zavier Simpson after he was suspended and it just had a different feel to it. Simpson, of course, played great, so did a bunch of others, including Brandon Johns, who has been getting better and better down the stretch.

In the last game against Indiana, Johns scored 14 points in 20 minutes, grabbed five rebounds and was 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. His defense has also been nasty and the fact that he doesn’t start shows how the talent level of this team.

The bench with Johns, Austin Davis and David DeJulius has been a revelation it will be key again Wednesday night for a true road game. The last matchup was on a neutral floor and while it was in New York, the Wolverines still had a lot more fans than they will have tonight at the RAC, which Juwan Howard said he hadn’t heard of on TV. Yes, he wasn’t around then, but still, it didn’t sound great, even as he said he meant no disrespect, you can bet Rutgers took offense.

Either way, it’s a huge matchup for both teams and here we go with three predictions.
