Michigan basketball has been on a roll lately, winning four of five and it will look to keep that going Sunday against Indiana. Here are three predictions.

When it comes to college hoops, there are still few rivalries that are as good as Michigan basketball and Indiana.

The rivalry between the Hoosiers and Wolverines isn’t a rivalry in the same sense of Michigan-Michigan State or Michigan and Ohio State. It’s just one of those classic matchups that have given us plenty of great games over the years.

Of course, the most well-known meeting was in 1976 when the Hoosiers beat Michigan basketball for the national championship as Bob Knight and Indiana finished off that incredible perfect season.

But as far as the current Indiana squad, it’s one that’s fighting to get into the NCAA tournament, just like the Wolverines. Both teams are 6-7 in conference play and fresh off wins.

Michigan beat Northwestern to win its second straight game, while the Hoosiers upset Iowa earlier this week to snap a four-game losing streak.

For the Wolverines, the return of Isaiah Livers has been essential. He looks 100 percent and his offense (15.5 PPG) has been a revelation, along with his defense. However, Livers can’t take full credit for the defensive transformation Michigan has undergone in the last five games.

According to the Detroit Free Press, a renewed focus on defense, particularly in one practice, has sparked a run in the last five games in which U-M has had the second-best adjusted defense in the country.

With that in mind, let’s dive into Michigan and Indiana with three predictions.
