 New Viper?

The Viper position has been a strength of the Michigan defense going back to its inception with former Heisman finalist Jabrill Peppers.

For the past three seasons, Khaleke Hudson has manned the position and done a really good job. His ability to blitz, cover and play the run made him one of the most exciting weapons on the defense for Don Brown.

But now it’s time to pass the torch and while there will be a lot of candidates, Anthony Solomon is a guy that seems to make a lot of sense. The former four-star recruit from Florida is 6-foot-1, 205 pounds and he is dynamic.

Solomon didn’t see much time on defense in 2019, but he played on special teams and his athleticism was easy to spot. The coaching staff felt like it got a steal by landing this kid late in the 2019 class and he is going to show people why in 2020, when he finds himself in the starting lineup.

I don’t know if he will take quite the leap that Cameron McGrone did last season, but something along those lines isn’t out of the question.
