Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from resume building rivalry win

Howard’s First Win Over Izzo
A lot of adversity has hit Howard’s program as of late. Simpson’s run in with the police, a three-game losing streak at home, and not being where this bunch thought it would be after such a scorching start to his career as head man. Putting all that behind him will be the goal after such an enormous victory that keeps his program striving to stay on the right path.
It really helped that Howard’s guys nailed 11 from beyond the arc. They haven’t made that many dating back to the nine that they hit in the Rutgers matchup. The rest of the shooting was not ideal, but that’s the stat that jumps out of the record books. Anything other than what we all witnessed Tuesday and what has been occurring far too often lately is a welcome sight to a group that wanted it so badly.
A couple of winnable games are now on the horizon for the Wolverines. They’ll visit last-place Northwestern in what should be treated as a trap game before coming home to battle Indiana for the lone regular-season meeting. Howard can enjoy the weekend with a nifty belated birthday present in which he celebrated yesterday.
