Michigan basketball will host Ohio State Tuesday night in a must-win game for the Wolverines. Here are three predictions for the rivalry game.

After back-to-back wins, the Michigan basketball team has seemingly got its season back on track. But in order to keep trending in the right direction, the Wolverines need to get another win tonight against Ohio State.

Michigan basketball won the last meeting between the two teams last season and this year, both have had ups and downs. After each has been ranked in the top five at some point this season, both come into this matchup unranked and needing to bolster their tournament resumes.

Yet, both teams have won consecutive games. Michigan beat Nebraska and Rutgers last week, while the Buckeyes defeated Northwestern and Indiana last Saturday. Both teams will also be without key players as U-M may be without Isaiah Livers, while Ohio State won’t have D.J. Carton.

Last Saturday, after getting Zavier Simpson back from injury, the Wolverines looked like the team that was ranked in November and won the Battle 4 Atlantis. Brandon Johns has been playing the best basketball of his career and Franz Wagner has found his comfort zone.

Now, the Wolverines have to prove they can play that way consistently and against another tough opponent. With Michigan State looming later this week, this is an essential game for Michigan basketball and a loss could put U-M right back into bubble territory.

With that in mind, here are three predictions for the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry game.
