Michigan will have the edge from deep

Rutgers has talented scorers such as Ron Harper Jr. or  Geo Baker, however, the calling card for the Scarlet Knights is defense. That’s what they are all about.

The Scarlet Knights do a very good job of forcing tough shots and defend well both on two-point attempts and 3-pointers. Yet, one thing that could really help the Wolverines is the return of Isaiah Livers.

Livers has been day-to-day since re-injuring his groin but it didn’t seem as serious and he has been doing some things in practice. Head coach Juwan Howard hasn’t given an indication either way, yet I just feel like Livers will go and that would be a huge boost for the offense.

Livers shoots 50 percent from deep and along with Johns, Wagner, David DeJulius and Brooks, it gives U-M a nice array of shooters. People also then tend to forget about Teske a little more.

Rutgers has a few guys hitting one or more 3’s per game, so they can shoot it, it’s just not the Scarlet Knights specialty, which makes winning that battle even more important for Michigan.

Maybe the Garden will bring it out in the Wolverines because I feel 10 3-pointers or so coming this afternoon.
