Michigan Basketball: Wolverines season officially in crisis mode
By Seth Berry
Is there any chance at a recovery?
Right now, Michigan has seemed to dig a hole so deep that it will have a difficult time climbing out of.
Is it impossible that they will climb out? No. But is it likely they do? It doesn’t seem that way.
If the Wolverines had better depth and had multiple players playing with confidence, that would be one thing. But that isn’t happening.

Franz Wagner is struggling in what has been a season of highs and lows for him. Howard has lost all trust in Colin Castleton and Adrien Nunez, hindering any depth Michigan may be able to create for themselves.
And most importantly…can anybody make a jump shot?! Anyone at all?! Sometimes, Michigan has moments they play really well. Against Illinois, they limited their turnovers, rebounded the ball well and limited Illinois’ paint points.
But when nobody can make a shot from over 10 feet out, it is hard to win a basketball game against any Big Ten opponent.
The lack of offensive confidence up and down the Michigan roster right now is stunning and it is something that continues to hinder the Wolverines ability to win games.
If the Wolverines have any chance of getting the season back on the right track, a guy like David Dejulius will have to step in and be aggressive to lead Michigan’s offense starting Tuesday night.
They need Wagner to be a go-to option as a scorer and Jon Teske has to be an impact player on both sides of the ball.
Michigan basketball fans will find out if the Wolverines can start to turn things around when they play Nebraska on Tuesday night. The ball tips off at 7 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU.
