Running back

Starters: Zach Charbonnet, Hassan Haskins

When it comes to the running back position, Michigan football is in really good shape. Both Charbonnet and Haskins will be sophomores in terms of eligibility next season after combining to rush for over 1,300 yards last season and 15 touchdowns.

Charbonnet was a top-3 back in the 2019 recruiting class and he played like it. Haskins also took huge leaps forward and by the end of the season, might legitimately be considered the No. 1 running back. Right now, I see it as a 50/50 split still in terms of being the guy.

Both are big, physical and capable of making big plays and the fact they both return is huge for the offense.

Backups: Chris Evans, Blake Corum

In terms of carrying the rock, Charbonnet and Haskins will have that covered for the most part. However, some other guys that will get touches both as backs and receivers are Chris Evans, the former starter and incoming 4-star freshman Blake Corum.

Corum is a top-150 recruit and a dynamic playmaker. He should make an immediate impact and Evans, who missed last season due to academics, should have something to prove in addition to being a great fit in Gattis’ system.
