Quarterback

Starter: Dylan McCaffrey

This is going to be the most-watched thing about Michigan football in spring football and heading into fall camp. Replacing Shea Patterson, who was 19-7 in his two years as a starter, is something many fans have wanted for a while and now they will get the chance to see either McCaffrey or Milton take the reigns.

When the season starts, you could see both guys possibly getting snaps and there is a good case to make for each quarterback. Milton has the better arm, especially down the field, but McCaffrey is the better runner and more experienced.

McCaffrey is also a more accurate passer, at least at this point in his career and that could work better in the speed-in-space offense with quick throws to speedy wideouts.

Backup: Joe Milton

It wouldn’t be a shock if Milton ends up winning the job over McCaffrey, but he is going to have to make some gains during the spring. He has to prove he can be more consistent and that he has a handle on the offense.

Cade McNamara is a name to watch too, however, the redshirt freshman is expected to be the No. 3 next season.
