Michigan basketball is out of scholarships and yet that isn’t stopping Juwan Howard from recruiting for next year. Here are three ways Juwan can still add talent.

The NCAA limits how many scholarship players Division I programs are allowed to have on their roster at any given time. Michigan basketball has reached that limit with the 2020-21 commitments and unless something happens, Juwan’s recent recruiting efforts are moot.

Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske are the only expected departures, with Austin Davis, Eli Brooks, and Isaiah Livers transiting into the senior leadership role.

David DeJulius, Brandon Johns Jr., Colin Castleton, and Adrien Nunez will be the juniors.

Cole Bajema and the German sensation Franz Wagner move into their sophomore season.

Freshman Zeb Jackson, Hunter Dickinson, Terrance Williams, and the top-ranked Isaiah Todd will become Michigan men at the beginning of the next academic term.

Full at thirteen scholarship players. Juwan must know a way around the rule as he and his staff continue to travel the country recruiting more top 100 high school seniors.

Five days ago, 247 sports Jerry Meyer dropped a crystal ball for Joshua Christopher, which has the 11th overall basketball player from Lakewood, California headed to Ann Arbor. There’s also Greg Brown, the eighth overall recruit for 2020-21, who scheduled a visit for next month knowing that as it stands, there isn’t room for him.

Yet.

Here are three scenarios that would open up some space.
