Michigan Basketball: How to watch, stream and odds vs Minnesota
Michigan basketball will be back in Big Ten play Sunday for a critical matchup with Minnesota, here are odds, as well as how to watch and stream.
Winning on the road is a key thing if you want to win championships and Michigan basketball will have the chance to do just that Sunday against Minnesota.
The Wolverines have won away from home this season, winning three straight at the Battle 4 Atlantis. However, they haven’t won a true road yet, losing at Louisville, Michigan State and Illinois.
The double-overtime win over Purdue helped avoid a 1-3 start in Big Ten play, but a 2-3 record heading to Iowa Friday isn’t something you want either, so it’s another huge game for U-M if it wants to be a true contender in the league.
Michigan basketball will most likely be without Isaiah Livers again, which will put the onus on Zavier Simpson, Jon Teske, Franz Wagner, Eli Brooks and David DeJulius.
Minnesota is a team that shoots a bunch of 3-pointers, while also working the ball on the inside to Daniel Oturu, who is averaging 19 points a game. Teske will have his hands full defensively and probably won’t get tons of help in terms of double teams.
That’s been the strategy and we will see if Juwan Howard sticks with that Sunday. It will also be interesting to see how often he uses the small lineup that led to the win over Purdue.
The only problem with the small lineup is that Minnesota is one of the best rebounding teams in the Big Ten and allowing offensive rebounds could be a real issue. However, it does seem to allow more open looks for Wagner and if the Wolverines are going to win, they have to make some shots from beyond the arc and just not Franz.
DeJulius will be a key element. Whether he plays a bunch alongside Simpson or not, the Wolverines need his instant offense, especially without Livers and if he doesn’t score in double figures, Michigan might not have enough offense to escape Minneapolis with a win.
