#7: 01/13/2018 – Moritz Wagner breaks Nick Ward’s ankles, leads Michigan Past #4 Michigan State

There is a lot of Michigan beating Michigan State on this list, and rightfully so, as Michigan fans tend to always enjoy sticking it to their little brother. None could have been farther from the truth when the unranked Wolverines traveled to East Lansing to once again, clash against their life-long rivals.

With the Spartans ranked as the fourth team in the country at the time, and with NBA talent on the roster such as Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr., the Wolverines were underdogs in the rivalry matchup, yet Michigan was able to control the game against the Spartans, thanks to a dominating performance by Moritz Wagner.

It was the heroic efforts of Wagner that highlighted Michigan’s upset victory, tallying 27 points, and making the highlight of the night, crossing Nick Ward for the easy layup, creating a memory that will last a lifetime for the people of Ann Arbor.
