Michigan Football: 3 things to be thankful for as Wolverines fans
While it hasn’t been the season many Michigan football fans wanted, here are three things Wolverine fans can be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is a hard holiday to compete with. The only bad part of it is there are no Michigan football games being played. Well, unless you count the one in Detroit.
We won’t get into the Lions though. Not on Thanksgiving. Instead, it seemed like a great time to look back and think about what we, as Michigan football fans, should be thankful for in 2019.
Yes, the season hasn’t always gone as planned. Many thought this would be the year that Michigan finally won the Big Ten until road losses to Wisconsin and Penn State ended that dream.
However, it hasn’t been all bad. The Wolverines have been on a roll of late, winning four straight and entering the annual showdown with Ohio State at 9-2 and ranked as the No. 13 team in the College Football Playoff Rankings.
There is no reason for delusion. Michigan football isn’t making the playoff, even with an upset win. But it can make the season a success and earn itself a place among the top 10 heading into the postseason.
But as we all know, none of that matters. The only thing that does is beating Ohio State, so for Michigan fans, Saturday might as well be the Super Bowl.
Basically, the entire year of Michigan football, whether its a success or failure, will be determined by what happens in The Game.
Therefore, it seemed like a good time to look back and remember what we have to be thankful for.
