Michigan Football: Odds, injuries, storylines and how to watch vs Indiana
Michigan football is looking for a fourth straight win Saturday at Indiana and here’s how to watch, plus a breakdown of odds, storylines and injuries.
Over the past few years, Indiana has been a thorn in the side of Michigan football. The Hoosiers haven’t beaten the Wolverines since 1987, but they keep getting closer and closer.
That last two meetings in Bloomington have gone to overtime and with Michigan football looking at a seven-win Indiana squad Saturday afternoon, a 24th straight win won’t come easy.
Indiana has put together a high-powered offense under head coach Tom Allen and entering this game, the Hoosiers are second in the Big Ten in terms of total offense per game.
On the other side, Michigan football has one of the better defenses in the league and has routinely held teams under 300 yards except for Wisconsin. The Wolverines run defense, which is allowing just 2.8 yards per attempt has also been dominant, along with a defense that has 10 interceptions and 32 sacks.
There is plenty at stake for both teams and we will break that down in a second, however, here is a key look at key info, including how to watch and stream, plus odds.

Storylines, injuries, odds
Michigan football enters the game as a 9.5-point favorite, which might seem a little high considering the Wolverines have struggled on the road. At the same time, UM has won three straight games by at least 30 points. The over/under is hovering around 54 points with a majority of bettors taking the over. When it comes to the injury report, it’s basically barren for Michigan football as just about everyone is healthy. There is a full stable of running backs and receivers and the offensive line is healthy too.
Injuries hampered the offense early in the season and that’s been part of the surge in recent weeks, as well as the growth of Josh Gattis as a play-caller. Indiana is also mostly healthy. Patrick Ramsey is technically the backup, but he has been starting all season long.
In terms of what’s at stake, Michigan football is trying to run the table in the regular season and get to 10 wins. A win over Indiana would give UM its third win over a team with at least seven wins and would give the Wolverines a chance to play their way into a major bowl with a win over Ohio State.
Indiana is also trying to secure a signature win this season, while also improving its own bowl position. The Outback or Gator Bowl may not seem like a big deal for most programs, however, for Indiana, it would be a big deal.
While the focus of Michigan fans will be in Bloomington, there is a big game in Columbus just before as Ohio State takes on Penn State.
As if you needed a reason to cheer against the Buckeyes, a loss to Penn State could still help Michigan football. Say the Nittany Lions beat Ohio State, win out and make the playoff, it could open a path to the Rose Bowl for the Wolverines if they can conquer their rivals.
If Penn State and Michigan both win today, Ohio State would be 10-1, while Michigan would have nine wins with a chance to even the record between the two teams with a win over the Buckeyes.
Then, depending on what happened with the Big Ten West champ, Michigan could possibly sneak in the Rose Bowl with a 10-2 season. It’s a long shot, but something to think about.
