Simpson will bounce back

No matter who the head coach is of Michigan basketball, on this team, Zavier Simpson was always going to play a huge role. He’s the senior point guard and along with Jon Teske and Isaiah Livers, one of the most important players back.

He’s an outstanding ball-handler, leader and defender. But last week against App State, wasn’t his best outing. He finished with six points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals, however, he also turned the ball over six times, which is uncharacteristic.

He also had the second-lowest efficiency rating of all Michigan players outside of Adrien Nunez and David DeJulius.

The Wolverines did enough to win last week, even though it was nerve-racking, but Simpson will have to play much better for the same thing to happen against Creighton and knowing Simpson he will deliver a solid performance.

Scoring obviously isn’t his strength, but I see one of those triple-double type performances, where he gets closes and has like nine points, nine rebounds and eight assists, plus a few steals.

Simpson delivers a lot in big moments and after a poor showing, he will be motivated, which isn’t a good thing for Creighton.
