Michigan Basketball: How to watch and stream Wolverines vs App State
Michigan basketball will open the 2019-20 season Tuesday night at Crisler Center and here’s how to watch and stream the Wolverines vs Appalachian State.
It has been a long wait for Michigan basketball fans who have been curious about Juwan Howard’s Wolverines since the new head coach was hired last May.
Things are no doubt going to be different than they were under John Beilein, who is probably the greatest head coach in the history of the program. The things he did, with the players he was able to recruit, will not be matched.
However, Howard can enjoy similar success, just with a different method of doing it and we will get our first glimpse of that tonight against Appalachian State.
That’s a name that also gives Michigan fans a little fright, after what happened back in 2007 anyways, but this in basketball and in the Wolverines home opener, App State shouldn’t offer too much trouble.
Michigan basketball won’t be full strength, not with Franz Wagner sidelined. Yet, it will be interesting to see what Howard does with the starting lineup and rotation in the team’s first actual game of the season. But, before we delve into more of the storylines, here is a look at how to watch and stream the season opener.

Storylines
Who starts will be the first question answered and if the exhibition season was any indication, it looks like Adrien Nunez will be the guy with Colin Castleton, Brandon Johns and David DeJulius the first guys off the bench.
Eli Brooks, Zavier Simpson, Jon Teske and Isaiah Livers are going to the other mainstays. Austin Davis and Cole Bajema are the other two that should crack the 10-man rotation early in the season.
The offensive philosophy for Howard will be interesting. Michigan shot a bunch of 3’s against Saginaw Valley State and also pushed the tempo. It led to some turnovers and bad shots. It’s fine to play at a faster pace, but the execution has to improve.
Expect to see a lot of Simpson, Teske and Livers early. Those guys along with Brooks, due to his defense and experience are sort of the core group of guys right now. Brooks shot the ball well the other night and if he can continue to do that, he will play a lot this season.
Livers and Teske are probably the most proven guys offensively and it will be up to others like Johns, Castleton, DeJulius and Nunez to make shots and earn their time on the floor.
Unless things go much differently than planned, Michigan basketball should win fairly easily, however, we should learn plenty either way in UM’s season opener.
