Michigan Football: 5 predictions for Wolverines against Maryland
Running game will dominate
Outside of maybe Rutgers and possibly a team like Nebraska, no one seems to be playing worse defense in the Big Ten right now than Maryland, which allowed more than 300 yards rushing last week in a blowout loss to Minnesota.
The Terps will be at home, which should help, but with the way the Wolverines have run the ball recently, it probably won’t matter.
Against some very good defenses in Iowa, Penn State and Notre Dame, the offense has consistently gained yards on the ground. Rushing for over 300 yards against Notre Dame was extremely impressive but with a tandem like Zach Charbonnet and Hassan Haskins, as well as the offensive line, it’s not shocking.
The offensive line was expected to be a strength going into the season and with the way guys like Cesar Ruiz and Jon Runyan, as well as others, those guys are meeting expectations and Saturday in College Park, expect them to push around the Terps early and often, creating more explosive runs for Charbonnet and Haskins.
