Michigan gives away a game to hated Michigan State

If you are looking at the worst losses of the Jim Harbaugh era, the one to Michigan State back in 2015 is easily among them.

Michigan football had a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter when it started to get sloppy. A long pass to a fullback after the Wolverines pushed the lead to nine allowed Michigan State to get back within two points and UM couldn’t quite run out the clock.

Facing a fourth-and-short near midfield, with time just about out, Harbaugh elected to punt, only the snap was dropped and we all know what happened next.

There have been some bad losses in the Big House, including the Kordell Stewart Hail Mary, but this was worse. With everything on the line and it coming against an arch-rival, it was a dagger to the heart.

To make matters worse, it may have cost Michigan a chance at playing in either the Rose or the Fiesta Bowl too and started the run of terror against top-10 teams.
