Shea Came To Play

Shea Patterson had his best performance against a quality opposition this year. Besides a bad interception, Patterson made the correct decisions on nearly every snap. He finished the night 24-41 with 276 yards passing and only got sacked once. Patterson was overdue for a performance like this and can hopefully springboard himself to more of them with the remainder of 2019.

Patterson also had his offense humming while facing a top-five defense coming in. He led his squad to 26 first downs and 417 total yards of offense. The rushing attack outgained the Lions 141-101. They owned the time of possession as well. A near-complete showing when all of his teammates had to have it the most.

Now the tough part will be for the signal-caller to carry over this over to Notre Dame. The defense of the Fighting Irish will certainly present another stern test for Michigan quarterback. Last year they held Patterson in check and didn’t allow him to beat them with his legs. This time around Shea will no doubt have to make more big things happen for Michigan to pull it out on their home field.
