Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from Wolverines win over Illinois

Darker Days Are Looming
Now the focus shifts to the beast of the schedule. Things sure look bleak even after a 5-1 start to the season. The road away from Ann Arbor has been unkind and many expect the same results with a top ten school on deck. The Nittany Lions routed Michigan in the last meeting in Pennsylvania, something that will not soon be forgotten.
However, in 2015 Michigan beat the Nittany Lions in Beaver stadium. This time will surely be different though. Not many come out of there at night triumphantly, so Harbaugh and company know exactly what they are in store for when it comes to next Saturday. Nothing can prepare the Wolverines for the atmosphere they are about to step into and that doesn’t bode well for a club that needs a road win worse than anything.
If the maize and blue can learn from the present, it knows what it will take with the insurmountable tasks ahead. Starting fast and quieting the naysayers is the only way it can save its fading Big Ten hopes.
After that, it will need to handle the punch back from Penn State and someway get out of Beaver stadium with an impossible victory that pretty much no one will be prognosticating over the upcoming week.
