Who wins

Michigan enters the game as a 3.5-point favorite against the Hawkeyes and that makes sense. The Wolverines should win this game, not just because they are the more talented team, but because they need it that much more.

If Iowa loses this game, it won’t be a season-ender. It will barely register a blip. Iowa fans are used to Kirk Ferentz winning eight or nine games a year and they aren’t going to kill him if he can’t win against a top-20 team on the road.

Harbaugh will get this destroyed if his team isn’t up to the task of knocking off 14th-ranked Iowa, along with his team’s chances of winning the Big Ten East.

The bottom line is that if Michigan wants to achieve any of its goals this season, it pretty much has to win this game. Harbaugh teams are usually good when their back is against the wall and heading into the Big House, that’s where the Wolverines find themselves.

For once, they will thrive on that pressure. The defense will be just good enough and the offense will make a statement.
