Michigan football returns to the Big House Saturday to take on Rutgers and here are five predictions for the Wolverines and Scarlet Knights.

The Michigan football team will take the field for its fourth game Saturday and much like the first three, we don’t really know what to expect.

In the first game against Middle Tennessee State, Michigan football fans were excitedly waiting for their first glimpse of the new offense directed by Josh Gattis and while things went ok that first week, the offense is still searching for its identity.

The bye week and the fact that Michigan had two weeks to prepare for Wisconsin was supposed to help find the cure for the offensive woes. But all the Wolverines got in Wisconsin was a butt-kicking.

Now, they return home to face a 1-2 Rutgers team, one that is still among the least talented teams in the Big Ten. The Scarlet Knights did play a competitive game against Boston College last week and had a 10-0 lead before losing the game.

Iowa also drilled Rutgers in the first game of Big Ten play. This game feels a lot like the Rutgers game two years ago. That’s when Jim Harbaugh finally replaced John O’Korn with Brandon Peters.

If Dylan McCaffrey was healthy, he might be the starting quarterback this week. Instead, it’s still Shea Patterson. He has another chance to take control of this offense and with a dominating win, the Wolverines can get some momentum heading into the Iowa game.

The team needs to be better in every phase of the game and here are five predictions about what will happen Saturday in Ann Arbor.
