Michigan Football: 3 Reasons why Shea Patterson is the guy
Shea is the guy because he’s the better quarterback
From day one, everyone knew Shea Patterson would be the quarterback, even Shea himself.
“It’s in God’s hands,” Patterson said when asked who would win the starting job. “From what I’m hearing, I’m pretty sure that I will win that and be able to play next year. If I don’t, I’ll work as hard as I can learning the offense and I’ll be playing the year after.”
Coming out of high school, Patterson was ranked first out of Florida, the best Pro-Style quarterback, and the four ranked football player in the nation. Everyone wanted him, he had a near-perfect 9982 composite rating.
Don’t get me wrong, Dylan McCaffrey is one of the best in the business when it comes to Dual-threat QBs. Out of Valor Christian in Colorado, Dylan was ranked second in-state, the fifth-ranked Dual-threat QB, and 123rd nationally. Dylan is one of a kind talent that is Michigan’s future, not the present.
Shea Patterson is the guy and all he’s doing is looking to improve upon his Third-team All-Big Ten honor and rocket himself up to Heisman candidate. He’s looking to blow past last year’s passing yardage of 2,600 yards, and he’s looking to finally taking down that team down south.
You just have to give him the chance, and a stage.
That next stage is in Madison against a tough Wisconsin team featuring the devastating Jonathan Taylor at running back and a stout defense. If Gattis and Patterson come through, the questions and demands will be answered.
