Michigan Football: 5 true freshmen Wolverines will count on in 2019

Michigan football has a talented class of incoming freshmen and here are the five that will make the biggest impact for the Wolverines in 2019.

The kickoff for Michigan football is now just days away. It has been months since the Wolverines took the field last year in the Peach Bowl against Florida and the wait has been excruciating.

But the offseason has been exciting for Michigan football fans. It started with the Wolverines losing two assistant coaches to Ohio State but then quickly turned in UM’s favor when head coach Jim Harbaugh was able to land offensive coordinator Josh Gattis.

Harbaugh knew his offense needed a revamp and Gattis seems like just the guy to provide it. He has talked about speed-in-space and running an offense that is light years ahead of the ball control, grind you into dust offense of old.

In order to help this new system succeed, Michigan football brought in a talented group of recruits. The Wolverines 2019 class was ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten and there are a number of guys that are expected to contribute.

Daxton Hill, Chris Hinton, Mazi Smith and Zach Charbonnet are four of the biggest names but there are probably seven or eight guys, maybe more that could find their way onto the two-deep this season.

A few could even find themselves in the starting lineup although it’s not clear if any freshmen will start against Middle Tennessee State next Saturday. But even if they don’t start, some of these youngsters will make an impact and here are the five that UM will count on the most in 2019.
