The likely commits

We are going to start with those young men who are on a path towards a Michigan basketball commitment based off either their vocal interest in the school or because they are related to the head coach.

Jace Howard

Class: 2020

As the son of the newly hired Michigan head coach, Jace Howard is expected to join the team next year after graduating from high school. What’s makes his commitment even more probable is he recently received a scholarship offer from the Wolverines.

Jace isn’t under-rated at this point because he doesn’t even have a rating from 247Sports while Rivals only metric shows the young Howard with three-stars. The culprit behind the minimal attention is the injury which knocked Jace out for a majority of his junior year.

“I had a fracture in my tibia, it happened in the semi-final game of the Les Schwab tournament in Oregon,” said Howard. “I thought it was just a bruise. It was bothering me when we came back after New Year’s and started practicing. I got it checked out, and the MRI revealed I had it.”

Jace eventually rebounded and helped lead University school to a state title, scoring 17 points in the Championship game.

Jett Howard

Class: 2022

Jett Howard is the younger son of Juwan and has been called a potential future five-star recruit, and he’s only a sophomore at University school with his brother.

While he doesn’t currently hold a scholarship offer, one will be coming soon as Jett gets closer to finishing up his education in Florida.

Nimari Burnett

Class: 2020

Listed as a five-star recruit with a 9912 composite rating, Nimari Burnett is one of the best guards in the country, and he hails from Juwan Howard’s hometown of Chicago. Those roots have given the maize and blue an advantage in recruiting Burnett.

“I love Juwan Howard as a person, and I’m sure he’s also a great coach. I’ve known him since I was in about 3rd or 4th grade, so we are almost like family.” Burnett told The Michigan Insiders Josh Henschke ($). “They are currently higher on my list than they were before. Based off of the relationship we have already they are in a better position.”
