The stage is set for the 2019 Michigan basketball team with the final piece being Franz Wagner. But what could the future hold for the Wolverines?

All is not lost for this Michigan basketball team as plenty of talent as remains in Ann Arbor. Senior’s Jon Teske and Zavier Simpson are going to lead this squad to many victories over difficult opponents for the 2019-20 season.

On top of them, there’s Isaiah Livers, Brandon Johns Jr., David Dejulius, and many more fighting for the remaining starting spots. That’s not to mention the very talented freshman Cole Bajema and Franz Wagner. Both are guys who could compete right away, and Franz already has plenty of experience from his time playing pro ball in Germany.

Outside of those future stars, only one future commit remains in Zeb Jackson. Based on Zeb’s highlight tapes, he will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with when he arrives in Ann Arbor for the 2020-21 season. The Ohio native has a sick crossover and an accurate shot that earned him a ranking of 59th nationally with a 9773 composite ranking.

Zeb transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida to provide himself with better competition and to start preparing him for the college level.

“We knew eventually this was going to happen,” Zeb Jackson Sr. told The Blade. “This was about continuing to challenge him academically and putting him in a situation where it will be a college feel … being away from home, scheduling classes, learning how to manage time, getting up in the morning. We wanted to give him a head start.”

As Zeb prepares himself for the upgraded opposition, it’s imperative to take a look at the other recruits this new staff is targeting and those who are either leaning the UM way or are at least viable prospects. Here’s a look at those young stars.
